Lotte gallery
Lotte Gallery is located in the main building of Gwangju Branch of Lotte Department Store. Originally, Lotte Gallery was intended for a cultural space in a shopping place which makes a contribution for spreading the high quality local culture through high level exhibition. But Lotte gallery Gwangju tries to focus on supporting regional artists more than other things.
In 1998, Lotte gallery was opened. In Gwangju, There weren’t many exhibition spaces at the time. so, the gallery has become a very meaningful place for engaging artists to local community.
Yesterday, it was an opening of Park Inhyuk’s 4th solo exhibition.
In 2004, after graduating from the Fine Art Department at the Chonnam national University in Gwangju,
Park Inhyuk began studying fine arts at Paris 1 University.
As a Korean living in Paris, He was absorbed in a concept of passage of time.
If you want to see what is in his artworks, you should go backward to see the hidden face of the painting.
Because he painted a portrait everyday like a labor with a brush, his portrait is made of lots of brush-touches.
So when you go backward, the line of face comes out. you can see the stratum of “time”.
Beautiful people…
