I organized the Asia Culture Center’s (ACC) 3rd ACC Roundtable: Digital Complexity on June 28, 2019 and presented on ACC’s digital strategies as a panelist alongside experts from global arts institutions such as MuseumNext, Van Gogh Museum, The Jewish Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and Korea’s National Museum. The event focused on how cultural organizations worldwide use online platforms to engage visitors in the digital era. A key session, “Museum × Digital,” centered on audience engagement through digital mediums, sparking lively discussions. As the organizer, I developed discussion topics covering the future of digital museums, roles of digital storytellers, advancements in museum Instagram presence, visitor-centric communication strategies, and ensuring digital accessibility from various viewpoints. Through sharing real-world cases, the ACC aimed to assess how institutions can evolve digitally to meet the needs of diverse audiences while fostering new strategic developments.

In fact, this event drew heavy inspiration from the conference called ‘MuseumNext,’ which the man pictured has been leading for over a decade now. The photo shows MuseumNext’s founder Jim Richardson. In brief, MuseumNext is a conference and platform that contemplates—what is the future of museums?
I had the privilege of attending this event when it took place in London. It provided a forum where numerous museum and arts professionals gathered, sharing insights into their institutions’ programs and campaigns while exchanging innovative ideas. It offered a unique perspective: museums not as static spaces but as dynamic, evolving entities that progress in step with the times.
