Pre-Opening Talk at Seo-Seoul Museum of Art (2023) | with Michelle Lopez

Jiyoung Lee was featured as a participant in the 2023 Seo-Seoul Museum of Art pre-opening public program “A Habitat Where the Sun Sets,” held from November 17-22, 2023. The Seo-Seoul Museum of Art, a new branch of the Seoul Museum of Art, is set to open in 2025 as an innovative art museum envisioned as a social powerhouse connecting arts and life. The pre-opening program served as a platform to explore trans-locality, community, digital culture, media, and the roles of art museums through diverse dialogues and artistic interpretations. Lee co-presented with Michelle Lopez, Executive Director of La Fuerza de Familias Latinas at Literacy Partners, in the “Art Museums and Diversity” section. Their discussion highlighted the Queens Museum’s Art Access program for children affected by autism. “A Habitat Where the Sun Sets” aimed to address key themes such as art museums and diversity, production and interpretation, arts and education, and climate media. The online presentation fostered conversations on expanding the reach and accessibility of art institutions.
